No employment guarantee:


CRITICAL: Permanent employment on completion is NOT guaranteed. This is a fixed-term 36-month learnership contract for skills development and training purposes only. While exceptional performers may be considered for permanent positions if vacancies exist, completion of the learnership does not automatically result in permanent employment.


Financial obligations:

  • No fees required: ArcelorMittal will NOT ask for money for apprenticeship or production learnership

  • Beware of fraud: If anyone contacts you requesting payment for this learnership, it is fraudulent - report immediately

  • The bursary covers training costs, PPE, institutional fees, insurance, and provides a monthly allowance


Age preference:


Preference will be given to applicants considered as South African Youth (typically under the age of 35 years).



Medical requirements:


Successful candidates WILL be subject to medical examination. This is non-negotiable and essential for working in steel production environments. Failing to attend scheduled medical examinations will result in disqualification.

Timely completion of all application steps is crucial. This includes:

  • Submitting applications by 31 January 2026

  • Completing recorded interview invitations by specified deadlines

  • Attending medical examinations when scheduled

  • Responding to communications promptly
