1 Position Overview

SPAR Group is seeking a Junior Industrial Engineer to join their Logistics team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will identify, plan and execute logistics-related projects while driving continuous improvement across warehouse operations, supply chain processes and productivity systems. This is a permanent EE position within one of South Africa's leading retail and logistics groups.

2 Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Matric and a tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering — essential
Strong problem analysis and problem-solving methodology skills
High proficiency in MS Office — Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint
High level of numeracy, logical reasoning and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and good administrative skills

Beneficial: Relevant working experience and programming experience will be advantageous.

Troubleshooting logistics areas and processes with low productivity
End-to-end supply chain cost modelling

Project Management:

Identifying and leading Logistics Improvement projects
Managing projects effectively from inception to completion
Leading and providing direction to dedicated short-term project teams

Warehouse & Systems:

Continuously reviewing and optimising all warehouse layouts
Analysing and improving Inbound, Outbound and Perishables logistics systems
Analysing and providing solutions to logistics business challenges

NB: The successful candidate must be able to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong ownership and delivery focus.
