1 Position Overview

Valterra Platinum, formerly Anglo American Platinum, is seeking a Safety Officer Surface to join their Amandelbult Complex in Thabazimbi. As a legal appointment in terms of Schedule 4 of the MHSA regulation 2/17.1, you will be responsible for managing Safety and Risk Assurance Functions, implementing safety systems, and ensuring full legal compliance at the unit.

2 Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Grade 12
Tertiary degree or diploma in Technical, Safety, Health, Environment or Risk
COMSOC I & II or SANTRAC certification
Blasting certificate or Trade certificate
Minimum 5 years relevant Mining, Process or Engineering experience
Experience in developing, implementing and auditing safety risk control programmes
SHE incident investigation experience — Loss Causation, ICAM, RCAT, SCAT or AICAT
Computer literacy — MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access and Projects

Beneficial: Courses in ISO 45001:2018, ISO 45000:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 will be advantageous.
