Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
South African citizen residing in eThekwini Municipality
Currently unemployed and NEET status
Not currently in education or training
Studying or have studied in Marketing, Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, Digital Marketing or related communication field
WIL placement requirement from your institution
Councillor confirmation letter proving your address and ward
NB: Only manual applications will be accepted — no email or online submissions will be considered.

Connecting with local communities to share important municipal updates
Digital Media:
Managing social media posts and drafting online content
Creating content that boosts municipal engagement and responds to followers
Stakeholder Engagement:
Working with ward councillors and attending community meetings
Organising public participation events and gathering community feedback
Administrative Support:
Compiling activity reports and assisting with campaign planning
Supporting communication teams with filing and scheduling
NB: Interns will work across all four areas — community communication, digital media, stakeholder engagement and administration.
